COVID-19 Cases in Kano Hit 666, 32 Deaths Within a Month

Kano State Ministry of Health has announced 64 new cases of COVID19 in the state with total confirmed cases now 666.

Galaxy TV correspondent King Richard reports that while monitoring the twitter handle of the state health ministry, the ministry in a tweet at exactly 11.45 pm on Monday said 13 additional patients were discharged while 6 persons died of COVID-19.

Galaxy TV reports that so far 63 patients have been discharged while 32 deaths have been recorded since the index case of the disease in the state on April, 11.

While the state grapples with the fast-rising number of COVID-19 patients and battle for space in the isolation centres, residents are still waiting for the outcome of the investigation into the causes of the mysterious deaths happening in Kano state that started two days into the lockdown on April 17, 2020.

Opinion leaders have described Kano as the epicentre of the novel coronavirus pandemic in the entire northern region because it has the highest number of infections and also because most street beggars commonly known as Almajiris expunged from the state to their state of origin tested positive for COVID-19.
