Edo State Governor Lift Ban On State Vigilante Group
Governor of Edo state Monday Okpebholo has lifted the suspension places on the state vigilante group initiated by the inspector general of police Kayode Egbetokun few days before the September 21st Governorship election.
Governor Okpebholo made this known in a statement by his chief press secretary Fred Itua made available to newsmen, said the need to reinstate the Security outfit is for enhanced safety and security.
The governor was said to have made the decision to mark a comprehensive shift in the state's quest for enhanced safety and security.
The successful conduct of the election in the state was also part of the motive of the governor in lifting the ban, which is also aimed to bolster the state security apparatus and ensure the safety of its citizens.
As part of the reinstatement process, all returning officers are required to report to the office of the state corps commander or their respective zonal offices for further directives.
