Bayelsa Bye-Election: INEC Assures Adequate Preparation
Ahead of tomorrow's senatorial bye-election in Bayelsa central and west, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured the people of the state that the commission is prepared to conduct a free and fair election.
This was disclosed by the Head of voter education and publicity of the commission Mr. Wilfred Ifogah while speaking with our correspondent Dele Fasan at the INEC headquarters in Yenagoa the state capital.
Speaking on their preparedness, the INEC head of voter education said the commission had prepared long before it was postponed as a result of the EndSARS protest.
He stressed on the slight changes by the commission as a result of challenges faced by COVID-19 in the country and beyond.
On the security arrangements, he said the existing working synergy with security agencies will ensure a violent free poll come Saturday.
