Ogun Police Commences Manhunt For Kidnapped German Contractor
The Ogun State Police Command has begun an intensive man haunt for the abducted German contractor, who was kidnapped by some unknown gunmen along Ogbere area of Ogun East Senatorial District. It will be recalled that the gunmen attacked the two vehicles belonging to Julius Berger Company, conveying two German Contractors to the site last weekend, killed one of the contractors and abducted the other. The Deputy Public Relations officer of Ogun State Police Command‎, Asp. Abimbola Oyeyemi stated that the command has deployed two teams of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad to the area adding that, the Area Commander of adjourned areas had equally been mobilized to trail the kidnappers and rescued the German alive. He stated that when the incident was reported, the command swung into ‎action adding that the police tried it best to save the life of the Contractor who was shot by the police, but died before medical attention could be given to him. ‎While calling on the people of the state to support the efforts by the police and other security agencies in the state to rescue the contractor, Oyeyemi said enough men of the command and officers from other security outfits in the had been deployed for the exercise. He added that Ogun state police command would ensure adequate protection of lives and property of the people noting that the command would not rest on their oars in this direction. For some weeks now, Ijebu axis of Ogun state has been notorious for the activities of kidnappers, thereby creating fear and apprehension among indigenes of the area.
