A seasoned Banker, developer of young entrepreneurs in Africa, Tony Elumelu, has sent a tribute to Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, on his enlistment in "The 100 Most Influential People of 2026", celebrating Dangote as "the greatest African entrepreneur of our time".

According to Elumelu, "it is an honour to write about Aliko but the real honor is knowing the man behind the myth – ‘Alicash’ - as I fondly call him and being able to call him my friend.

"He's shown us what's possible when you don't quit.

"Cheers to my dear friend, Alicash - the Africapitalist!"

Tony Elumelu, writing in the TIME Magazine, on Aliko Dangote, highlighted,Tony inter alia:

"If I could use only a few words to describe Aliko Dangote, I would say he is indefatigable, resilient, and foresight.

"He is one of the greatest African entrepreneurs of our time.

"As founder of the Dangote Group, he has financed and manufactured everything from cement to sugar to oil, and recently, as part of his push to invest in African industry, opened a colossal new refinery - Nigeria's largest.

"He has shown Africans can create value, with our own resources, on our continent.

"When faced with difficulty moments of my own, I will often ask myself: What would Aliko do? I call him Alicash because he has the Midas touch..."
