IGP Pays Tribute To Deceased Officers In Oriire Rescue Operations
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has paid tribute to Sergeant John Abena, who lost his life during a joint security operation that rescued abducted school children in Oyo State.
Disu, who received the police personnel involved in the operation at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, praised the officers for their courage and professionalism.
He said the operation, carried out alongside other security agencies, was successful despite the loss of one officer, while those injured were responding well to treatment.
Disu assured that the Nigeria Police Force would continue to support the wounded officers and the family of the fallen policeman.
He also stressed that tackling insecurity requires strong collaboration among security agencies rather than rivalry.
Disu further appealed to Nigerians to support security agencies with timely and credible information, saying public cooperation remains critical to preventing crimes and saving lives.
