CBN Releases ₦2 Billion Loans To Osun Small Scale Business Owners

In a bid to cushion the effect of poverty among Nigerians, especially among the Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs who could not access loan from the bank to boast their businesses, the Central Bank of Nigeria has released the sum of two billion naira loan to be disbursed to artisans in Osun state.

The Special Adviser to the CBN Governor Mr. Paul Nduka Eluawe, while presenting the cheque to the Osun state government said the Osun state is one of the first beneficiaries of this CBN developmental loan.

Our Correspondent in this report examines how an average petty trader in the state would benefit from the said loans.

it is obvious that  many petty traders do not found it easy to  access bank loans to boast their businesses as a result of the size of their business and many of them are not knowledgeable about the loan procedures.

To this end, the central bank of Nigeria has released sum of two billion naira developmental loans to be disbursed among the petty traders in osun state.

However, it may interest one to note that many of osun petty traders said they do not need more than ten thousand naira to boast their businesses, but they are not assure of getting out of this  loanS provided by the CBN.
                                          
The Special Adviser to the CBN Governor Mr. Paul Nduka Eluawe said that the CBN developmental fund is meant for diverse operators in micro, small and medium enterprises and its essence is to empower the people who do not have access to fund to improve their business and engagement.

As oliver twist, the Osun state government called on the central bank of Nigeria to do more in this regard as they are ready to partner with federal government to better the lives of its residents.
                        
The loan attracts Nine per cent interest rate, which will be borne by the state government and not the beneficiaries.

However, in order to meet the aims and objectives of the loan, concerned government at the state level must not play politics with the loan disbursement.
