The Nigeria union of teachers, NUT, on Tuesday, called out teachers for solidarity protest  in Lagos over frequent attacks by bandits on schools and kidnapping of pupils, students and teachers across the country.

Members of the NUT, accordingly, embarked on peaceful solidarity walk from Ikeja Local Government Hqrs to Alausa, the Governor’s Office, to register their concern over the safety of the abducted students and teachers in Oyo State, and across Nigeria.

They display placards demanding immediate actions to safeguard schools, protesting: "Our Schools are for Learning, Not Mourning;" "End the Reign of Fear in Our Schools;" among others.
