Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command, attached to the IGP Violent Crime Response Unit, recovered two AK 47 Magazines, 60 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and other incriminating items during a raid on suspected cultists Hideouts at Awada, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement, indicated that the police team stormed the notorious black spot known for cult activities at Nwaziki Street, before raiding the hideouts, leading to the recovery.

The suspects had fled the scene during the raid. The police have commenced investigation to identify and arrest the fleeing suspects.

The Anambra State Police commissioner, CP Ikioye Orutugu, promised to sustain an aggressive raid against criminal elements and their enclaves across the state.
