PDP Holds 108th NEC, 87th BoT Meetings

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, held 108th meeting of the National Executive Committee, NEC, and the 87th meeting of the Board of Trustees, BoT, in Abuja. The stakeholders resolved the urgent need for reconciliation among aggrieved members as part of efforts to reposition and strengthen the party in the buildup to the 2027 elections.

Top party stakeholders, including the PDP National Leader and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alongside members of the minority caucus in the National Assembly, were in attendance at the crucial meetings.

Deliberations at the meetings concentrated on unity as a central objective, with party leaders urging deliberate and inclusive reconciliation efforts. They called on stakeholders at all levels to reach out to aggrieved members, rebuild trust, and ensure that no segment of the party feels alienated.

Speakers, including Nyesom Wike and key figures within the minority caucus, stressed the importance of collective responsibility in strengthening the party, noting that cohesion remains vital for electoral success and long-term stability.

The NEC further advocated the strengthening of internal party structures, the deepening of internal democracy, and strict adherence to the party’s constitution as essential steps toward institutional growth.

The Board of Trustees also made same resolution, urging sustained and proactive engagement with aggrieved members and those who may have distanced themselves from the party.

The meetings concluded with a renewed commitment by party leaders to prioritise unity, reconciliation, and strategic coordination in advancing the PDP’s role within Nigeria’s political landscape.
