Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State is becoming obsessively intolerant of opposition views. This is not unconnected to the shutdown of a Mega Hub Event Centre in Benin City, by the Edo State Government after a performance by veteran rapper Eedris Abdulkareem, who criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his failures in governance.

Abdulkareem, at the show, titled: "Mega Rave: A Night with the Legends," was said to have descended on the Tinubu administration, purportedly referring to him as the "worst president", in the light of perceived national economic hardship.
