Senator Kabir Marafa, on defection to the National Democratic Congress, NDC, emerged Leader of the party in Zamfara State.

This was declared by the NDC National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, in conjunction with other party leaders, on receiving Marafa into the NDC in Abuja.

According to Dickson, "Today, in the company of the National Chairman and members of the National Working Committee of the NDC, it was a pleasure to receive my friend and brother, Distinguished Senator Kabir Marafa, — a former Senator of the Federal Republic and a frontline politician in Zamfara State, into the NDC alongside his teeming supporters.

"The National Chairman, other members of the leadership, and I warmly welcomed him as he declared his commitment to advancing the vision of the NDC and taking its message to Zamfara State as the leader of the party in the state."
