IGP Deploys DIG, AIG, Tactical, Intelligence Units To Plateau

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has ordered immediate deployment of a Deputy Inspector General Of Police and an Assistant Inspector General of Police to Plateau State after Sunday's massacre in Angwan Rukuba community, Jos North Local Government Area.

The Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Anthony Okon Placid,
in a statement, indicated that an immediate security response to the recent killings in Plateau was "activated with the deployment of senior officers, including DIG Usman Nadada and AIG Francis Iwu, alongside tactical and intelligence units in collaboration with other security agencies".

Moreover, the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has undertaken an operational visit to Plateau State after the recent attack on Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area.

The FPTRO in the statement disclosed that the visit is part of efforts to restore peace and stability in the area. He added that the police condemned the incident which led to the loss of lives.

During the visit, the IGP met with Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State, and proceeded to the affected community for an on-the-spot assessment.

The police said the situation has been largely de-escalated, with personnel strategically deployed while operations continue to apprehend those responsible.

The Inspector-General has ordered sustained operations and warned against any form of reprisal, urging residents to remain calm and law-abiding.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to restoring normalcy and protecting lives and property.
