Governor Kashim swears in Caretaker chairmen

Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima swears in twenty-seven caretaker chairmen in Maiduguri, the state capital.


The chairmen are expected to serve for a renewable tenure of about six months. The swearing in was done by the state chief justice, Kashim Zanna at the council chambers of the government house.

About twenty of the chairmen sworn in had their tenures renewed.

In their acknowledgement speech, the chairmen who spoke through the chairman of Maiduguri metropolitan chairman, Bakari Ali Kotoko said they understand the daunting task ahead of them but they also accept the confidence of the state governor reposed on them to deliver dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
He said the caretaker chairmen will work round the clock to fast-track the quick return of their people to their ancestral homes as their villages are rebuild with social infrastructures to enable them to live a normal life.
