The National Defence Council have resolved to extend once again, the state of emergency in the three north eastern states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.

Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke made the declaration after the council meeting held at  the presidential villa, Abuja.

At a short interview with state house correspondents, the Minister said, the decision came after review of activities of the dreaded boko haram sect in the Northeast.

He said, the decision would be sent to the National Assembly for ractification.

On whether the issue would see the light of the day since the house of representatives is still on recess, the Minister expressed optimism that the matter would scale through both chambers.

The decision is coming in the wake of serial bomb blasts and gorrilla attacks on innocent Nigerians by members of the boko haram sect.

Among members of the council who attended the meeting include the chief of defence staff, Air Chief Marshall, Alex Badeh, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah, Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin and the Chief of the Air Staff Air Vice Marshall Adesola Amosu and the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba.
