Benue Civil Protection Guard Rescues Kidnapped Six-Year-Old Boy
Benue State Civil Protection Guard, the state-owned security outfit, has rescued Kidnapped six years old boy in Buruku Local Government Area, as operatives of the local security agency spread their dragnet.
The State Commander, Capt Ajovbi Ajovi, retired, at its headquarters, disclosed that the suspect was apprehended on his way to Makurdi to hand over the under age boy to an awaiting buyer.
The Guard arrested Desmond Gwarza, the suspect who kidnapped of the six years old, named Aondonenge Guda, in Buruku, sent by his mother to buy Maggi.
The Commander emphasised the need for more community vigilance, noting they have enemies within. He called on parents and care givers to be watchful of their children and wards.
Capt Ajovi said the suspect, 25 years, will be handed to the appropriate authorities, while Guard intensifies investigation to arrest the supposed buyer, now at large.
The boy's uncle, Yakwan Paha, commended effort of the civil protection guard.
The suspect, during interview with newsmen confessed to the kidnapping, saying he was taking the boy to Makurdi to aa awaiting buyer, before he was caught at the park by operatives of the Benue state Civil Protection Guard.
