APC Convention A defining Moment Towards 2027 Elections
The 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress, APC< has been described as a defining moment in Nigeria’s political landscape in the buildup to the 2027 General Elections. Party members conceive the convention as consolidation of its strategy towards 2027.
The convention, held at Eagle Square, Abuja, brought together over 8,000 delegates, including top government officials, party leaders, and members of the National Assembly.
Themed “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the gathering focused on strengthening internal cohesion and reinforcing the party’s policy direction.
Members of the House of Representatives played active roles in deliberations, highlighting the significance of the convention in shaping the party’s future.
A major highlight was the strong show of support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with lawmakers reaffirming their commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda and expressing confidence in ongoing reforms.
Senator Adeola Olamilekan also pointed to early gains from the administration’s reforms, describing the convention as a strategic platform to boost the party’s electoral prospects.
Other stakeholders who attended the event saw it as coming at a crucial time when the party is strategizing and positions itself for upcoming elections
They stressed the need for commitment and unity among party members.
As New party executives emerge, there were strong calls for unity and internal cohesion if they must make positive impact, especially, during the forthcoming general elections in January 2027.
