Ajimobi solicits support for development
Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi has appealed to members of the National Assembly to assist in the socio-economic development of the rural areas in the country.
Speaking in Ibadan while receiving members of the House of Representatives Committee on Rural Development, led by its chairman, Hon. Oladipo Adebutu at the governor's office, Ajimobi maintained that larger percentage of Nigerians are living in the rural communities but without basic amenities that could make life better and more meaningful.
The Governor stressed that members of the National Assembly should also work in collaboration with their respective state governments in order to ensure that the need of the masses are met.
Eralier in his remark, the chairman, house committee on rural development, Hon. Oladipo Adebutu explained that improvement in rural communication could as well improve the quality of life in the rural settings.
The Committee members have since commenced the inspection of rural telephoning facilities spread across Oyo state.
