Police Engage Communities To Enhance Collaboration, Peaceful Coexistence In Kaduna
The Kaduna State Police Command has embarked on a security tour to engage communities on enhancing collaboration, strengthening security and promoting peaceful coexistence in the state. The tour was led by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Shehu Umar Nadada, and the Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad.
The Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, of the Kaduna State Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, in a statement, indicated that the team visited affected communities in Southern Kaduna, which include Kachia, Sanga, Jere, Zango, Kajuru, and Kafanchan Local Government Areas. They held strategic engagements with key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and religious leaders, the PPRO said.
Hassan said the discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between security agencies and the community, addressing farmer-herder issues, and promoting intelligence sharing to tackle criminal activities effectively.
The DIG emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence, urging residents to live in harmony and avoid actions that could escalate tensions. He assured the communities of the police force's commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
Community members were given the opportunity to express their concerns and contribute to practical solutions aimed at restoring lasting peace in the area.
The Kaduna State Police Command reiterated its dedication to community-oriented policing and called on residents to support security agencies in maintaining peace and stability across the state.
