Tinubu Commiserates With Borno Residents Over  Terror Strikes

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commiserated with the residents of Borno State over the multiple suicide bombing by terrorists, describing the recent bomb blast in Maiduguri as profoundly upsetting. 

The President, In a statement on Tuesday, indicated that he mourns those who lost their lives, sympathizes with the injured and stand in solidarity with the people of Borno during this challenging time.
 
President maintained that these acts of terror are the final desperate and frantic attempts by criminals and terrorist elements trying to instill and spread fear, as they are under constant pressure from Nigeria’s brave armed forces and security agencies operating in various theatres. 
 
He said government will continue to intensify efforts against all criminal elements, wherever they may be.
 
The president commended the courage and fighting spirit of the  patriotic troops, who successfully repelled the coordinated attacks by the terrorists on military positions in the state. 
 
He said Monday attacks were desperate acts of the evil-minded terrorist groups, adding that the military and civilian task forces will curtail and put them down.

Recall that last weekend, during a security meeting with leaders of security and intelligence agencies, the president approved additional equipment and operational support to enhance the military capabilities. 

The president has also directed security chiefs and emergency agencies to move to Maiduguri to take charge of the situation and provide proper care for the injured.
 
President Tinubu expressed the belief that there is no place in Nigeria where terrorists will find safety, as govt has vowed to locate them, confront them, and completely defeat them.
 
He said Nigeria will not succumb to fear.
