Tinubu Commends Nigeria Police Force For High Level Of Professionalism

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has commended the authorities of the Nigerian Police Force for its professionalism, discipline and commitment to women’s empowerment at the 70th anniversary of women in policing in Abuja.

Speaking at an event organized to celebrate Women Police Officers in Nigeria, Tinubu also commended the Inspector General of Police for aligning the Force with global best practices and urged sustained support for young women pursuing policing careers.

The Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, described the anniversary as a historic milestone, noting that Nigerian policewomen now excel in leadership roles across investigations, peacekeeping, intelligence and public order.

She reaffirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to gender-responsive reforms and pledged more professional development for female officers.

Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun applauded women officers for their strategic role in national security, highlighting reforms that promote gender equality, expanded training, fair promotions and zero tolerance for discrimination.

The Force Gender Adviser, AIG Aisha Abubakar Baju, also commended the IGP for championing gender-responsive initiatives.
