Police Battle Trust Deficit, IGP Assures Force Work To Restore Public Confidence

The Police may be battling with trust deficit in civil relations. The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, disclosed that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed and is working hard to restore public confidence to improve security across the country.

IGP Disu, receiving the Defence and Police Officers' Wives Association on courtesy visit, acknowledged the growing security challenges in the country. He expressed optimism that sustained efforts by security agencies would restore the confidence that once allowed travelers to move across the country.

The IGP commended the association for its support to police families. He maintained that the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association underscore the importance of supporting police families, describing their welfare as essential to boosting morale, institutional effectiveness and national security.
