Taraba govt set to enact anti-grazing law

Taraba state government is set to enacting anti-grazing laws to check excess of the herdsmen and streamline grazing activities in the state.


 

Taraba state governor Darius Ishiaku made the disclosure after a closed doors meeting president Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential abuja, Monday.

He said thebill which would be passed in january 2018 is to sustain the existing peace in the state.

The governor said both herdsmen and farmers have been sensitized about the bill to avoid friction when it is finally passed.

Governor ishiaku said unlike the misunderstanding that trailed such law in benue state, stakeholders are expected to understand that the law is done in good fate.

The governor however urged federal government to return some of the soldiers withdrawn for the state for adequate security of lives and property in the state.

The governor further stated that he was in the villa to show appreciation to the president, for re-awarding the mambilla hydro-power plant contract among other issues. 

The 3,050Mega Watts Mambilla Hydro Power Plant is expected to gulp a total sum of  5.8 billion dollars to meet its 72 months (6 years),completion period.END
