Suspected Cultists Kill 3, Burn Houses In Delta Community
Three persons have been confirmed dead with four houses set ablaze as suspected cultists went on a rampage at Oteri community, in Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.
The incident which took the community residents unawares after last week's warning by the state police command for cult groups to vacate the community left properties worth millions of naira destroyed.
Reacting to the killing and destruction of properties, the President General of the community Mr. Efe Odibo said he pleaded with the parties involved before they took laws into their hands.
He stressed that the community has imposed an 8pm to 6 am curfew to check the killings as a trader who lost her home to the clash calls for assistance.
It will be recalled that eight persons were last month killed by cult groups fighting for supremacy, while the state police commissioner Hafiz Inuwa promised to bring the perpetrators to book.
