A syndicate, suspected to members of a confraternity group in Rivers have allegedly killed a legal practitioner in the state.

The State Police Command confirmed the killing of the lawyer in Eleme by the notorious group in the area.

The Police Public Relations officer Omoni Nnamdi, during the week, confirmed this to Galaxy TV. According to him, the Rivers state commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed has deployed more security operatives to the area for the arrest of the perpetrators.

Omoni Nnamdi continued by calling on the public to give useful information to the police on sponsors of crime and hide out of criminals in the area and in Rivers state at large.

He, however, said the command is ready to ensure the safety of life and properties before, during and after the festive period adding that the use of fireworks during the festive period is not welcomed.He urged the public to enjoy the season with no fear of insecurity of their lives and properties.
