Rivers Intensifies Fight Against Preventable Diseases

Rivers State Government is intensifying fight against vaccine-preventable diseases.

The curiosity for clean health bill in the state compelled the government to commence overarching enlightenment to sensitize residents on taking care of their young ones, and adults, as well, to forestall outbreak of epidemic.


Several officials of governments, who include, Dr. Emma Ubong, South-South Zonal Director of NPHCDA; Dr. Chituru Adiele, Executive Secretary of RSPHCMB; and Dr. Joseph Urang, State Immunization Officer; participated in the sensitization campaign across the state.

Apparently, the statewide campaign was intended to protect children between the ages of 9 months and 14 years from the deadly effects of viruses.

The South-South Zonal Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Emma Ubong and other stakeholders assured the public of their safety and the need for the children immunization.
