Reps Adjourns Plenary In Honour Of Lawmaker
The House of Representatives has adjourned Tuesday's plenary in honour of a late lawmaker Hon Isa Dogonyaro.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives,Hon Tajudeen Abbas announced the adjournment.
He said the late lawmaker who hailed from Garki in Jigawa state and represented the Babura/Garki Federal Constituency passed away on Friday 10th of May, 2024, after a brief illness. Hon. Isa Dogonyaro was a dedicated and passionate legislator who served his constituents and the nation with utmost commitment.
Hon Abbas noted that the late Hon Isa Dogonyaro was a detribalized patriot who was very jovial as much as he was an intellectual.
He said,the late lawmaker built strong bonds of friendship with Honourable Members from all parts of the country and he is survived by wives and children.
In this moment of grief, the speaker said their thoughts and prayers are with his family, constituents, colleagues, and the people of Jigawa State and prayed for strength and comfort for all who mourn his passing
Hon Abbas however said, the House would set day aside to hold a Valedictory session for the deceased.
Recalled that, Hon. Dogonyaro passed away after a brief illness, today, Friday, May 10, 2024, in Abuja, at the age of 46.
He was a pillar in the House, contributing significantly to the development of legislation, particularly in the area of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Control, where he served as the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee.
The House is to reconvene on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 at 11:00am.
