Protesters morn death of British missionary

Hundreds of protesters from the Delta community of Enekorogha in Burutu local government area of Delta state took to the coastal community in a protest to mourn over the death of a British missionary, Ian Squire who was among the four Britons kidnapped on the 13TH of October.


The mourners who were dressed in black with placards matched through the community before gathering at the now vacated hospital used by the missionaries.

Speaking on the death of the Briton, the community chairman and a chief spoke on the pains of the community residents since the rescued missionaries left.

Meanwhile, some beneficiaries of the free medical services by the British missionaries narrated how they were abducted and pleaded for the return of the three Britons.

It will be recalled that four British Nationals who built the hospital in the community over four years ago, was kidnapped during a free medical service in the community on the 13th of October, while one of the Briton who was asthmatic was found dead in the creeks after three of the missionaries were rescued last week and later returned to the U.K.
