The Police, in swift intervention, busted kidnap operation, and arrested a suspected armed robber and kidnapper attempting to rob students hostels in Agbor.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Delta State Police Command, Edafe Bright, in a statement, narrated that the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Agbor Division, CSP Michael Obekpa, led an Anti-Crime patrol team to the Texas Lodge hostel after some armed robbery suspects were identified with the aim of robbing students.

One of the suspects was said to have been arrested while others fled the scene on sighting the police patrol team.

Items recovered, according to the PPRO, include one locally fabricated pistol and an expended cartridge believed to have been abandoned by the fleeing suspects as well as three mobile phones and a power bank.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, urged members of the public to be vigilant and remain security conscious. He pleaded that they continue to provide useful and timely information to the police.
