Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has promised to put in place a strategic development framework which honors the vision of those who shaped the state and ensure that the state reclaims her position as Nigeria’s Pacesetter State.

Governor Makinde gave this charge in Ibadan during the unveiling of OYO at 50 LOGO in commemoration of her golden jubilee anniversary, slated for February 3rd 2026.

 Makinde emphasize that it imperative to access the  50 years of the state existence and project the next 50 years for the pacesetters state, while urging prominent sons and daughters, traditional leaders, and leaders of thought to evaluate current realities and identify gaps between past ideals and present needs.

The chairman of the anniversary committee Hon. Saheed Fijabi in his welcome speech said various activities have been design and urge citizens and residents to come out to participate actively. Highpoint of the event was the unveiling of the Oyo at 50 logo while also rewarding the best logo designer culminating in the release of the ceremonial Golden Anniversary balloons
