NDLEA Seizes 49.70KG Of Heroine In Lagos
National drug law enforcement agency NDLEA has seized the largest heroine consignment ever on the shore of Nigeria. The drug law agency intercepted 49.70 kg of high grade heroine en route south Africa through SAHCO import shed of the murtala Muhammed airport cargo terminal in Lagos.
The resolution of NDLEA under the leadership of the chairman, chief executive officer, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa to fight illicit drug business to a stand still in Nigeria is no doubt yielding results. The nation's drug agency through meticulous vigilance and investigation intercepted the largest heroine consignment ever on the shore of Nigeria enroute South Africa.
The consignment was concealed in 15 cartons of 2300 -watt metal cutting machines.
Preliminary investigations revealed that an international syndicate that operates in other countries was behind the movement of the consignment and the kingpin is discovered to be one Peter Chidiebere the.owner of Platinum hotel in Ago palace who based in Mozambique.
So far, preemptive actions taken by NDLEA against members of the syndicate include freezing of 107 bank accounts associated with 14 members of the cartel. Hotel and mansion linked to the kingpin of the syndicate was also marked for forfeiture to the federal government.
Meanwhile, Brig Gen. Buba Marwa said the agency is on top of the matter and will surly ensure members of the cartel are brought to book.
