LG Bureau Develops Website For Information Flow In Benue
Benue State Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has developed website for information flow among the component entities within its fold.
The Bureau officially launched its website to enable the public access information about its activities, policies and programmes, and also help counter wrong narratives about developments in the local government councils and traditional institutions in the state.
The website will serve as the central hub for information dissemination and provide updates on policies, guidelines, circulars and activities of the Bureau, unlike the old practice of physical publication in newspapers or bulletin across the 23 local councils.
The Permanent Secretary, Terna Ayu, said the new platform will greatly impact local government administration and better reposition the Bureau for efficiency and service delivery.
The technical consultant, Director, ICT, Dr. Fanen Upwa, urged the Bureau to take full ownership of the platforms. He said that local government officials can now assess relevant documents without delays, more so, this is now open for the wider public.
Launching the website, Chief of Staff to Benue State Governor, represented by Dr Joseph Nule, assured the technical staff that they would be provided with gadgets after their training to enable them update the website regularly with credible information on a daily basis.
