IPOB: group files appeal against proscription
The Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB have filed an appeal against a Federal High Court judgment proscribing it and labelling it a terrorist group.
In a chat with Galaxy’s Godfrey Eshiemoghie in Abuja Tuesday, the lawyer of the group, Ifeanyi Ejiofor said the matter will be coming up on 25th October for hearing before the Appeal Court in Abuja.
Ejiofor said IPOB is committed to reversing the 17 September 2017 High Court decision as he described the Igbo secessionist group as peaceful and law-abiding.
The lawyer of the Indigenous People of Biafra said the group is determined to head to the Supreme Court if necessary to ensure it clears its name.
