IGP assures neutrality in Bayelsa election
The Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has assured the people of Bayelsa state of neutrality and adequate security during  Saturday’s governorship election in the State.
 
The police boss gave the assurance at the  Government House in Yenagoa the state capital during his visit to the state governor Senator Douye Diri on his resolve to ensure a violent free poll.
 
He explained that his visit was in respect of the election as he call on Bayelsans to have confidence in the security operatives in the discharge of their duties.
 
 
Responding, the Bayelsa State Governor urged the IGP to ensure he keeps to his words, while promising to support the police in the discharge of their duties.
 
Chairman of the Bayelsa traditional rulers council also charged the IGP to live up to expectation.
 
The Inspector General of Police  also had an interactive session with officers and men of the State Police Command in ensuring they maintain professionalism during the elections.
