Girls' Brigade seek right for girl child
As a way of building the girl child and encouraging her to stand firm in the face of challenges, the Rivers state chapter of Girls' brigade has charged the girl child to be right in all their ways while calling on the federal government to implement laws to promote their safety.
This was made necessary following the recent increase in cases of girl child molestation and abuse, hence the need to impact positive thinking in them.
Speaking on the issue, a parent and members of the girls' brigade express their views on the need for stiffer penalties and lessons learnt.
It will be recalled that kidnap victim Leah Sharibu who has been in Boko Haram captivity since the 19th of February 2018 is a member of the Girls' brigade.
