FG Approves Road Contracts to Niger Republic.

The Federal Government has approved the sum Twenty-Nine Billion Naira for the construction of two roads linking the country with neighboring Niger Republic.

The approval was given at today's federal executive council as part of the government's drive to boost business and economic opportunities with other African countries in line with the African continental free trade agreement.

The roads are  Balle Kurudula road located in Sokoto which will cost 9.5 Billion Naira while the other one in Jigawa will cost Nineteen Billion Naira.

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola brief journalists on the approval after the council meeting.

Council also announced plans to commence refurbishment of the aviation accident investigation bureau in Abuja.

Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said the move is to maintain the safety of the nation's air transport system.

The refurbishment according to the minister, will cost the government Five Hundred and Ninety-One Million Naira and another Six Hundred and Twenty-Five Million Naira for a training school for accident investigation.

This he said will also include the procurement of laboratory equipment that is expected to be certified by the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Correspondent Nnabuchi Okey Nnabuchi reports that the Ministers of communication and digital economy, Isha Pantami and his mines and steel development counterpart, Olamilekan Adegbitealso gave an account of their ministries stewardship in the last one hundred days in office.
