Federal Operations Unit Zone B, Makes Notable Seizures

The Nigeria Customs Service Federal Operations Unit Zone 'B' under the stewardship of Comptroller AM Alkali has continued its robust efforts to combat smuggling, culminating in a significant seizure of foreign parboiled rice and the handover of seized medicaments and chemicals to partner agencies.
These was contain in a statement by Pubic relations officer FOU zone B actions are part of the unit's ongoing commitment to enforcing customs laws, protecting local industries, and safeguarding public health and the environment.
On August 3, 2025, an operatives of the Unit acting on actionable intelligence intercepted a Daf tanker truck along Yauri-Kontagora Road, in Kebbi State, the team escorted the vehicle to Kaduna for a thorough physical examination. Upon examination, it was discovered that 250 bags of foreign parboiled rice were concealed inside the tanker, which were subsequently seized. The duty paid value for the seized rice stands at twenty million, five hundred and ten thousand Naira only.
The Comptroller FOU 'B' commended the officers for their vigilance and professionalism. He emphasized the Unit's dedication to using proactive surveillance and intelligence to suppress smuggling activities and protect Nigeria's economic interests.
In a separate but related effort to foster inter-agency collaboration, the FOU Zone B, in line with the CGC's directive, the unit also officially handed over seized items to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) .
The handover included 58,740 sachets of 100mg & 50mg medicaments and 27 cartons of Analgin injection to the Director, NAFDAC Kaduna State Command; while 3 sacks of Riodin chemical, containing 990 pieces to the Head of NESREA Kaduna State Office.
