Education Promotes Teachers' Capacity Building

The Federal Ministry of Education has shown commitment to promotion of teachers' capacity building for effective service delivery.

The Ministry organized Nigeria Teachers’ Summit 2026, holding from 27th to 28th January 2026, as part of sustained national efforts to reposition teachers at the heart of education reform and national development.

The Summit, with the theme: “Empowering Teachers, Strengthening the System: A National Agenda for Education Transformation and Sustainability,” will assemble teachers, policymakers, education administrators, legislators, development partners, civil society organisations, the private sector, parents, the media and other key stakeholders.

the Director of Press, Mrs. Folashade Boriowo, in a statement on Saturday, indicated that the Summit will focus on practical strategies for improving teacher welfare, professionalism, instructional quality and learning outcomes across the country.

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will deliver the Keynote Address at
the opening ceremony, scheduled for Tuesday, 27th January 2026, at the Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja.

The Summit will also witness the official launch of the Edurevamp Online Teacher Professional Development Portal, a strategic digital platform designed to expand access to continuous professional learning, skills enhancement and career development opportunities for teachers across Nigeria.
