Breaking: Falae's kidnapper jailed
The High Court of Justice sitting in Akure the Ondo state capital has sentenced kidnappers of Chief Olu Falae to life imprisonment without options of fine.
In his judgement which lasted for two hours, the trial judge, Justice Rotimi Ademola said the prosecuting counsel was able to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt.
The seven convicted persons include: Abubakar Auta, Bello Jannu, Umaru Ibarahim, and Masahudu Muhammed.
Others are: Idris Lawal, Abdulkadir Umar and Babawuro Kato
Justice Ademola ruled that the evidence given by the victim of the abduction, Olu Falae showed that his abductors were guilty as he was able to recognise three of them in court.
About eight hundred thousand naira part of the five million naira ransom paid to the abductors was one of the evidences presented in court that nailed the suspects.
Falae was abducted in his farm on September 21, 2015 by suspected herdsmen .
He regained his freedom after spending four days in the den of the kidnappers.
