Benue Massacre: EU Visits Yelewata Displaced Victims Promises Support.

After two weeks of the devastating attacks on Yelewata community in Guma local government area of BENUE state where about two hundred people were said to have died in a most dehumanizing way.
A delegation of the European Union has visited the displaced victims now taking refuge at the International Market Makurdi to condole with the people, assess the situation and identify with the people, promising that EU and its partners would see how they support the victims and their communities.
Leader of the delegation, Ambassador Gautier Mignot, made this known at the camp in company of the Deborah Aber, Secretary to the state government who assured that state government is working to ensure the safe return of the IDPs to their ancestral despite the displaced victims agitation to go back home. Earlier the EU delegation visited government house Makurdi in company of the Humanitarian minister Nentawe Yiltwada.
