Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri has presented 290.259 billion Naira as its appropriation estimate for the 2021 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.

Governor Diri while presenting the budget says the budget tagged budget of growth 2021, will define the focus to diversify the economy from over depended on oil to wealth and jobs creation.

The governor while presenting the budget of growth 2021, acknowledged that the 2020 budget revised suffered a setback due to the COVID-19 pandemic and flooding.

Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly  Abraham Ingobere assured the governor of the state assembly readiness in collaborating with the executive to provide the needed development in the state.

Our correspondent reports that the 2021 budget of 290 billion Naira is about 34.84 per cent higher than the 2020 revised budget of 183 billion Naira.
