APC Faction In Rivers Calls For Recognition Of Its Exco

A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has called on the party’s national leadership to comply with court rulings that affirm its legitimacy as the authentic state executive.
Addressing journalists at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, the group appealed to the National Chairman, Professor NentaweYilwatda, to recognize and enforce binding judgments which nullified the dissolution of the Chief Emeka Beke-led leadership and invalidated the rival faction headed by Chief Tony Okocha.
The group referenced Suit No. PHC/3592/CS/2023, filed by State Secretary Sam SamEtetegwung, in which Justice S.H. Aprioku of the Rivers State High Court ruled that the Beke-led executive remains validly in office until October 2025. The court described the purported dissolution of the leadership as illegal.
They also cited a separate ruling in Suit No. PHC/3859/CS/2024, where Justice Obomanu invalidated the congress that produced the Okocha-led committee, further reinforcing the position of the Beke faction.
The group welcomed the decision of the APC National Executive Committee to extend the tenure of all elected state executives until December 2025, saying the decision aligns with the court’s rulings.
