Operatives of Anambra State security outfit, code-named Agunechemba, have demolished a building used by sex hawkers in the state. The operatives arrested 20 female sex workers and 18 male customers.

The suspects were said to be apprehended in a brothel at Okpuno, in Awka South Local Government Area, Anambra State.

Agunechemba had carried out the operations in line with the directives of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo that building accommodating criminal and illegal activities be demolished in Anambra State.

The security personnel displayed illicit drugs recovered from the arrested suspects who were paraded at the premises of the brothel, the location of their arrest.

A bulldozer was on the scene pulling down the building from the rooftop.

The Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi, in a media interaction as demolition continued, narrated the discovery made in the operations, which included a firearm.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo had warned that homes and hotels used for illegal activities and storage of illicit Drugs will be demolished under the state law.
