As the trial of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu Continues at the Federal High Court in Abuja, the International Community has been advised to act decisively for his immediate and unconditional release.

Kanu Family in a fresh demands made available to Judiciary Corespondents in Abuja by his Brother, Prince Emmanuel maintained that Kanu's detention remains a direct assault on judicial independence, constitutional integrity, and international human rights law.

It also Condemned the Nigeria’s defiance of its own judiciary and its violation of global norms through the illegal rendition and continued detention of an acquitted man saying, the world cannot stand idly by while Nigeria’s government undermines the rule of law and erodes its credibility on the global stage.

The Statement also condemned what it called a reprehensible and legally indefensible proposal by the Nigerian Consultative Forum (NCF), which demanded immediate global action to address a gross miscarriage of justice and an assault on the rule of law.

The family further called on the the United Nations, African Union, Commonwealth, and all foreign missions to exert unrelenting pressure on the Nigerian government to honor its constitutional obligations and international commitments.

It added that Nnamdi Kanu must be freed while those responsible for his persecution be held accountable.
