Alaafin Calls for More Security Consciousness in the Southwest
Following the spate of insecurity across the country, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi has charged southwest Governors to be on the alert.
Oba Adeyemi, while speaking with Journalists after he led some traditional rulers to Agodi Governor's Office stated that the situation of the country called for concern.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the monarch commended the southwest Governors for coming up with the idea of Western Nigeria Security Network, otherwise known as Amotekun stressing that there is need for increased security across the country, especially at the grassroots.
Addressing the traditional rulers, Governor Seyi Makinde thanked the traditional rulers for the visit noting that there is a need for integration among Yoruba nations across the border.
Governor Makinde said, ‘I promised to everything within my capacity to synergise the cultural and economic activities of the Yoruba across the border of West Africa. I want to implore all our royal fathers to support the government, especially in the area of security of lives and property.’
