The University of Jos is among 10 Nigerian Universities to benefit from a world bank research grant expected to run between 2014/2017, it was announce during the conference of the West African Research Innovation Management Association(WARIMA) in Jos.

The annual WARIMA conference has become a ritual for international researchers, policy makers and other participants, it present an opportunity to brainstorm on issues affecting the development of research administration and management within the West African sub-region.

Supervising Minister for Education, who was represented at the event said to realize the 2020 dream, the ministry’s four years development plan is tailored towards transforming Nigerian Academics and other Institutions through innovation.

With the theme “Networking, the key to advancing research management and innovation in West Africa” speaker after speaker emphasis on the need for universities to strengthen research innovation structures, advancement of the code of professional standard and improve on networking among researchers among other issues.
