IPMAN threatens to withdraw services

The Kwara state branch of the Independent Petroleum Marketers  Association of Nigerian has threatened to withdraw its services if the federal government does not correct the unbalanced method of supplying fuel to its members.


The association threatened to suspend its services on Monday, December 11.

The state department of petroleum resources in response to this threat has urged Kwarans not to panic as it will ensure strict monitoring of the flow of fuel into and in the state.

For about one week now, motorists in some parts of the country have again begun experiencing the  fuel scarcity  But the problem seems far from over going by a threat recently issued by the Kwara state independent petroleum marketers association of Nigeria IPMAN not to supply petroleum product if government does not correct the imbalance in the supply chain.

Chairman of the association alleges that Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has been selling fuel to private depots which in turn sells to them at exorbitant sums above the official price and has suggested three options as a way out of the quagmire.

 

The controller of the department of petroleum resources in the state has advised residents of Kwara not engage in panic buying as the department is ready to monitor the distribution Premium Motor Spirit coming into the state.
