Ogun Partners Stakeholders to Train Teachers in ICT
The Ogun state government, through the Bureau of Information Communication Technology (ICT) has revealed it will go into partnership with key stakeholders to train public and private schools teachers across the state in the effective use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) across the education curriculum.
To this effect, the Director of ICT, Olatundun Adegunte disclosed that a workshop would be organised on November 14th, 2020 in collaboration with Orange Card Project, an initiative created by a team of education service providers to the support and empower teachers.
Olatundun, while addressing newsmen at the state's Tech Hub in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital stressed that the workshop would provide pedagogical ICT training to empower teachers of all subject areas with the competencies to integrate ICT into their teaching and learning methodologies.
The Director disclosed that the beneficiaries would be drawn from both primary and secondary schools, insisting that it is a must that the teachers have digital Knowledge to key into the opportunities available in the digital world.
On his part, the Coordinator of the Project, Abiodun Osodi stated that the need to train teachers in ICT was underscored by the demand of this technology-driven era, where there is a paradigm shift from analogue to digital.
Osodi who decried poor exposure of most teachers to ICT assured that the training would enable them to improve on their output and meet the new world standard of teaching.
