Army Train Young Soldiers To Tackle Oil Theft

The Nigerian Army is consolidating its forte, enhancing manpower capacity building, in the Niger Delta for effective combat of oil bunkering and oil theft.

The Nigerian Army, under the 63 Brigade, have trained 60 young soldiers of the 89 regular recruit intake after their graduation.
The soldiers are trained for deployment in protecting oil facilities in the Niger Delta region.

The exercise was conducted at the headquarters of the 3 Battalion Nigerian Army in Effurun, Delta State.

The training exercise was monitored by Commander, 63 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Moronfolu Shonibare, and the Commanding Officer, 3 Battalion, Major Abdulaziz Haruna; and sister agencies. The Commander spoke on the combat readiness of the young soldiers.

The 3 Battalion Commanding Officer also spoke on their preparedness in tackling oil theft.
