Ekiti coaches lament inadequate govt support

The Coaching Department of the Ekiti State Sports Council says it can improve on its performance, and develop more National and World-beaters if given the needed equipment and incentives.
They also called for the payment of allowances to athletes, to motivate them and discourage poachers.
Coaches speaking in Ado-Ekiti, while displaying trophies and medals won by various coaches and their athletes in the last one year, appealed to the state government to provide an Indoor Sports Hall, re-grassing of the field at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, in Ado-Ekiti.
Some of the athletes who have done Ekiti State proud within last twelve months were Rising Tennis Starlet - Seun Ogunsakin, Tosin Oribamise - Nigeria’s top Junior Table Tennis player who won several National and International laurels, also Adewale Masebinu, the National Light Heavyweight boxing Champion.
